Yes, this is my favorite genre and it is definitely not romance (both Western or Chinese). I don't know the proper name to call my favorite genre. Maybe it is "realistic fiction". I myself call it "linglei", a Chinese word to describe a Chinese genre. Maybe not very accurate to call so. I often find myself in the vague situation of "I will know it when I see it". I used to call this situation fantasy. Now I call it failure. My own failure in grasping the very essence of the object or the situation.
